The Arsenal captain disappointed during the 1-0 loss in the Champions League. Martin Ødegaard has spoken out after Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, and the fans are not happy.
Arsenal’s hopes of reaching their first Champions League final in 19 years got off to a disastrous start when they lost 1-0 to French side Paris Saint-Germain at home on Tuesday night.
The result means that Mikel Arteta’s side now face the difficult task of turning around a one-goal deficit in the second leg at the Parc des Princes next week.

But Arsenal captain Ødegaard is confident that previous performances this season show that they are more than capable of turning the game around in the return leg – but the supporters are far from as convinced.

Ødegaard has not impressed in recent games for Arsenal, which has led some fans to go so far as to claim that he should be removed from the starting line-up for the most important games of the season.
Tuesday’s game against PSG was no exception, and the Norwegian international did not fail to admit that he was disappointed with the performance.
In an interview with beIN Sports, Ødegaard said:
“Everyone is a little disappointed with the result. We wanted to win here today, and we wanted to do better in some areas. But this is just a break. We have one more game and we have to analyse this, learn from it and make sure we give everything in the second leg. We must be convinced that we can turn this around. That is the goal now.
“They have some good players and they play very good football. But as I said, we have to go into the return with full confidence. We have to look back on the game, analyze it and make sure we learn from the experiences we had today. There is a new game to be played, and we will be ready.
“The early goal changed the dynamics of the game, but we will go there and give everything, we firmly believe that we can turn this around. We have fantastic quality, top players, and we have done it before at the Bernabéu. We are going there and really fighting for it.
Fans furious after another weak performance
While it is clear that the Arsenal captain is trying to rally fans ahead of the second leg, the response has not been positive. Many are now demanding that he be taken out of the team for the decisive match.
One fan wrote:
– I have a suggestion: How about you take some responsibility? Another miserable performance from the captain. He couldn’t rise under the pressure.
Another added:
“I can’t be bothered to listen to this nonsense anymore. He’s had enough time to find his form, but when it really counts, he’s invisible!
A third exclaimed:
“Believe in this player? Impossible. The worst thing as captain.
