Last season, Martin Ødegaard was the big one in the Premier League. Arsenal fans knew that the captain both pushed the team and went ahead and showed the way. It ended with second place in the Premier League. So when Ødegaard and Arsenal started the current season, the expectations were for the next step towards the titles. It has not gone as planned, Ødegaard has had to endure criticism, even from his own supporters, who thought he had to give up the captain’s armband for a period. Now we are at the end of the season, the Arsenal captain gives us his summary.
Knocked out in the cups, out of the Champions League in the semi-finals, another second place in the Premier League. However, it is an attacking Ødegaard who after the win against Newcastle reminds the supporters that there is reason to be proud, where the pain of not winning titles should be used.

“We can be proud of what we have achieved, especially in the Champions League, where we had a fantastic journey and some great experiences. We have to accept that we haven’t been good enough in the league, but we have to take all the experiences, both good and bad, into next season and get better,” Ødegaard begins in his speech to the Arsenal supporters.
“The Champions League was unbelievable, it’s nights like that we live for. Playing at home with that support. Great game, and hopefully we can have many moments like that next season. It’s amazing to feel that and the love from the fans,” the captain continues.
Then the eyes turn to the next opportunity to bring home the title.
“We have to use all the experience from this season, feel the pain of not winning and take that with us into next season, come back stronger and give the club some trophies next season,” said Martin Ødegaard according to BBC Sport.
