‘Never fall in love with a loan player’. This is an English football proverb. For Everton supporters and David Moyes, this is impossible to follow. Jack Grealish went from playing time drought – and yelling – at Pep Guardiola, to Player of the Month in his first month as an Everton player on loan. Everton supporters have a new favourite. After 20 appearances in an Everton shirt, as many as the entire 2024/25 season at City, Grealish has become one of Moyes’ key players – and a strong candidate to play his way into England’s World Cup squad. Then something happened in the game against his old club Aston Villa on Sunday.

According to The Athletic , Grealish has suffered a stress fracture in his left foot, which could keep him out for months.

The creative winger will be examined by a specialist in the coming days to uncover the extent. The injury could potentially weaken Grealish’s chances of being part of England’s squad for the World Cup this summer, reports the English media.

Grealish definitely doesn’t need this, now that he has finally restarted his career, as one of the best left wingers in the Premier League.

We want speedy recovery.
