Mohamed Salah comes with bombshell about Liverpool exit! – The king leaves Anfield

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season, after making a shocking statement on social media on Tuesday night.

Despite signing a new contract last year, the legendary Anfield player has now confirmed that he will leave his contract after the 2025/26 season.

“Hello everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my goodbye: I’m leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

“I want to start by saying that I could never have imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become a part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club. It’s a passion. It’s a story. It’s a soul. I can’t put it into words for anyone who is not part of this club.

“We have celebrated victories. We have won the most important trophies. And we have fought together through the heaviest moments of our lives.

“I want to thank everyone who has been a part of this club during my time here, especially teammates, both past and present. And to you supporters: I don’t have words.

“The support you have shown me during the best period of my career, and that you stood by me in the toughest moments, is something I will never forget, and something I will always carry with me.

“It’s never easy to leave. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always be my home – for me and my family.

“Thank you for everything. Thanks to you, I will never walk alone.

Salah’s exit has long been awaited, not least because clubs in the Saudi Pro League are very interested in securing the 33-year-old.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in June 2017, and has a remarkable 255 goals and 122 assists in 435 appearances for the club.

His legacy at Anfield is already secured. He has won two Premier League titles and the Champions League twice – and the Reds are still in contention to make it three this season.

What a way to end!

Liverpool confirm on their own website

Mohamed Salah will end his illustrious career at Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The striker has struck a deal with the club that means a remarkable chapter of nine years at Anfield is now coming to an end.

Salah wanted to get the news out to the supporters as early as possible, to give clarity about the future – out of respect and gratitude for them.

The number 11 came from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, and has since established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history. He has helped the club to two Premier League titles, the Champions League triumph, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup and two League Cups, as well as an FA Community Shield.

With his 255 goals in 435 games, the Egyptian has climbed up to third place on the club’s all-time top scorer list. He has won the Premier League’s Golden Boot four times, as well as a number of individual awards.

With there still a lot to play for this season, Salah is heavily focused on finishing in the best possible way with Liverpool. The time to fully honour his legacy and achievements will therefore come later this year, when he says goodbye to Anfield.
