Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah had every intention of staying at Liverpool as if there were some problems with communication with manager Arne Slot at times last season as well. It is reasonably clear that the reigning league champions can thank the legacy of Jürgen Klopp for the Premier League gold and not Dutch manager Arne Slot.
Slot’s shortcomings as a manager have been evident this season where Liverpool are far outside the gold medal race, in fact currently all the way down to 9th place in the Premier League and come into conflict with Mohamed Salah who has delivered a whopping 190 Premier League goals for the club.
Liverpool are considering hiring Steven Gerrard as Arne Slot’s interim successor and have already speculated about the former England midfielder about a potentially shocking comeback to Anfield. – Gerrard is not skilled enough yet for a permanent post, but the Liverpool legend will be very well received in the dressing room, and especially by Mohamed Salah who really wants to contribute.

The defending Premier League champions have had a nightmarish start to the season, with only two wins in their last ten league games, and have lost ground in the title race to both Arsenal and Manchester City.
While Liverpool are currently backing Slot, they are reportedly considering alternative scenarios behind the scenes, including parting ways with the Dutch tactician in an attempt to save the season.
Liverpool are considering Steven Gerrard.
According to reports, Liverpool are now considering Gerrard’s surprise return to the club on a temporary basis if Slot is sacked.
Gerrard is available after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq in January. He led the club for 18 months and guided them to a sixth-place finish in the league in his first season.
The 45-year-old left Al-Ettifaq by mutual agreement just 17 games into his second year, and was approached by Rangers in October about a return to Ibrox to replace Russell Martin. – Gerrard turned down a proposal from the Scottish club, where he spent over three seasons from 2018 to 2021 and led them to the league championship in his final year there.
The former Liverpool midfielder also has experience as a coach in the Premier League with Aston Villa. His tenure in the West Midlands lasted only 38 league games, of which he won 12. (Not particularly good in other words)
Gerrard spent almost his entire playing career at Liverpool, where he played over 700 games and lifted the Champions League trophy in 2005.
Salah faces an uncertain future at Liverpool.
Gerrard’s mid-season arrival will be something Mohamed Salah will welcome with open arms, after publicly venting his frustration after being benched once again on Saturday following the 3-3 draw against Leeds at Elland Road.

The Egyptian striker revealed that his relationship with Slot has been severed in an explosive interview, in which he also accused Liverpool of “throwing him under the bus” due to his limited playing time under the Dutch tactician.
Salah also claimed that the upcoming Premier League game against Brighton could be his last as a Liverpool player, although it remains to be seen if he will be selected for the match.
While his public outburst doesn’t seem to have done him any favours, the arrival of a new manager could see the Egyptian stay and continue as a Liverpool player.
There has also reportedly been talk of a return for Jürgen Klopp, but he is said to be doing too well as global football boss of Red Bull to take on any assignments as manager. -Provisional.
