Moss has for a number of years knocked on the gates of the Eliteserien and each time ended up outside. – Especially the end of the seasons in the OBOS league has been difficult. – Now Moss has brought in Brann assistant Ole Martin Nesselquist as the new head coach.

The change of coach came after Thomas Myhre, who has led Moss for the past four years, completed a personal promotion to the Eliteserien by signing for HamKam.

Moss Fotballklubb has today with pleasure announced that Ole Martin Nesselquist will take over as the new head coach of the A-team. The experienced coach comes to the club with a solid football foundation and a clear vision for further development.

This on the same day that midfielder Alexander Håbnes has signed a deal with the Danish club Aalborg Football.

A perfect match for Moss
Nesselquist impressed during the hiring process with his professional skills, clear leadership skills and strong commitment to the club’s philosophy. His development-oriented approach and modern training methodology are seen as ideal for building on the existing foundation of the club.

“We are extremely pleased to have Ole Martin on board. He is an ambitious, modern coach who fits perfectly into our long-term plan for the club. We have full confidence that he will contribute to lifting both the group of players and Moss FK to new heights, says sports director Even Juliussen.

Emotional homecoming
For Nesselquist, this marks a special homecoming. As a local boy, he himself saw Moss FK meet Rosenborg at Melløs – now he gets the chance to lead the team from the sidelines.

“I am so proud and grateful for this opportunity. What has been built up here in recent years is absolutely fantastic, and I look forward to contributing to further development. Standing as head coach at Melløs feels like a dream come true. I am really looking forward to getting to know the group of players, the professional apparatus and not least the Crow’s Wing and all the fantastic supporters, says Nesselquist.

The new Moss coach also spoke out about thanking his former employer:

First game against Ålesund
Nesselquist will make his debut on the Moss bench in the OBOS league’s away game against Ålesund on July 26. The club would also like to extend a special thank you to Sportsklubben Brann for a good and professional cooperation in connection with the coaching transition.
