It rarely looked elegant when Marouane Fellaini fought his way into position in front of the opponents’ goal and managed to root the ball in to score, but the Belgian was still one of Jose Mourinho’s big favourites as Manchester United manager. Now the Belgian giant is in the middle of part two of his football career.
Fellaini has been brought in by Belgian Charleroi, currently in 12th place in the top flight. Here, the 38-year-old will serve as a consultant in the technical staff.

The deal is initially valid for a couple of weeks, where Fellaini will be present during the club’s training and matches.
“The entire club is looking forward to benefiting from Fellaini’s contribution and experience, especially as he, as we must not forget, began his career at Sporting Charleroi in 2004,” the club writes.
Marouane Fellaini made 177 appearances with 22 goals for Manchester United, before continuing his career in Chinese football, where he played until 2024, when he decided to retire.
