There are bangs in tackles and messages when Liverpool and Everton clash in the Merseyside derby. Although there has been a big gap in the balance of power between the two clubs seen over the seasons as a whole, Everton go into the derby battle as the only thing that matters. Virgil van Dijk called it “Everton’s cup final” after a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park. Now it is ready for a new derby match, at the same time an interesting process is playing out in the back room.
It is an unwritten rule that Liverpool and Everton players should not change clubs. Neither do managers. When former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez returned to Liverpool, the blue part of the city, the reactions were very strong. It didn’t last long for Benitez at Goodison Park either.

The last time Everton and Liverpool made a player trade was 23 years ago, when Abel Xavier left the Toffees for Liverpool. The last time a player left Liverpool for Everton was all the way back to 1992, when Garry Ablett “switched sides”.
According to The Scottish Sun, Moyes has signed Liverpool winger, 19-year-old Ben Doak, who has impressed on loan at Middlesbrough. The Scotsman Doak is said to be available for bids of around £25 million.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are willing to send a player to their city rivals, for the first time in 33 years.
