Everyone in France is talking about Désiré Doué as the next big thing and lately the talk has moved far beyond the country’s borders. Manchester City man Pep Guardiola has received confirmation from the guys on the money bag that they will start the work of going after one of Europe’s biggest talents.
Désiré Doué is only 19 years old, sees playing in the Premier League as his big dream. Paris Saint-Germain, who are well covered in attack, should not stand in the way of a transfer if they are well paid.

Désiré Doué is so exuberantly good and confusing for any defence that he can go straight in and become a very effective attacking partner for Erling Braut Haaland.
The French jewel is one of PSG’s biggest stars at the moment.
Doué’s season has been one big showing. With statistics that place him among the continent’s best young players, the French-Ivorian has impressed both in Ligue 1 and at the European level. His ability to adapt to different roles in attack – from winger to playmaker – has increased his value considerably, and City believe he would fit perfectly into Guardiola’s style of play.
But Manchester City are not alone in their chase. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are also following his development closely, although some of these clubs have financial constraints that could complicate their ambitions. PSG, on the other hand, have no plans to let him go. They see him as a mainstay in their future project and will only consider sales for sums over 100 million euros.
Strong negotiating position
Doué’s contract, which runs until 2029, further strengthens PSG’s position, and they feel no pressure to sell. Nevertheless, City are optimistic and believe a solid offer and an attractive sporting project can open the door. Now it is a matter of seeing if the admiration translates into a formal bid that makes PSG let go of their newest gem.

If City are successful, the signing of Doué could be one of the biggest transfers of the summer. But with PSG’s hard will to negotiate and the competition from other top clubs, this will be a game that could drag on. One thing is for sure – Désiré Doué is a name we will hear a lot more about.
