When Naby Keita walked out of Anfield as a free agent in the summer of 2023, the midfielder had a CV that opened doors. The choice for Keita fell on Werder Bremen. The decision turned out to be the missed shot of his career. In full clinch with the Werder management, minimal playing time, so exclusion from the squad has set the 29-year-old Keita back. A reigning league champion has picked up Keita on a one-year lease with a purchase option.

Werder Bremen and Keita have put the disputes aside and are resolving the dispute with rentals. On Tuesday, Werder confirmed the deal with Hungarian side Ferencvaros.
“We are pleased that we have found this solution together with Naby and his agent. It was clear to us that Naby will not play for Werder. Therefore, this lease is the right step for both him and us. We wish Naby a lot of success in Hungary, says Werder’s sporting director Clemens Fritz to the club’s website.

Ferencvaros is the reigning champion of Hungary and has no less than 35 league titles. Now it’s up to you, Keita.
