This is terribly exciting, almost like waiting to unwrap packages on Christmas Eve. Egil Selvik, who has a few days left on his contract with Haugesund, tells the local newspaper Haugesund’s newspaper that he is traveling to England this week to negotiate with a club in the Championship.

Egil Selvik came to Haugesund from Odd after the 2020 season.

It has not been revealed which club it is, but we do know that Leeds, who this summer let Kristoffer Klaesson go to Polish football for free, are now close to losing their French first goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Selvik is on an expiring contract with Haugesund and confirms to the local newspaper that the journey now seems to move on to English football.
“The plan is for me to go over next week. There is talk of a club in the Championship in England. I have at least received positive signals and interpret it as I have good chances, says Egil Selvik.

After four seasons in Haugesund, the goalkeeper announced last weekend, after his place in the Eliteserien had been secured, that he would leave the club. He made his debut for the national team in September 2023.
