Toby Collyer has his many fans at Manchester United. The midfielder plays just as naturally in the defensive as in the central role. At Manchester United, the door of playing time has been tight, Collyer has been on the pitch so far in 13 games for the senior team, the need to get a steady flow of playing time is great for the English player. Therefore, it was disturbing to hear the 22-year-old was to be brought back from rental “for safety’s sake”. Fortunately, it has now been resolved – there will be new challenges outside Old Trafford.
A few days before Ruben Amorim was fired, Toby Collyer was called back to the club. Collyer was on loan at West Bromwich in the Championship, now he was going back to compete for playing time in United’s midfield, reported The Athletic. With Amorimn out, Michael Carrick at the reins and a brilliant United squad, the plan for the United talent is changing.

For now, it is no longer a question of an emergency solution, where United will have the 22-year-old in the squad for safety’s sake. Collyer, with 13 first-team appearances at United, will continue his development with game time – outside of Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old was injured in November at West Bromwich and had to sit out the rest of the games. The Hull Daily Mail reported earlier in the week that Hull City are working on a land lease deal for Collyer, on Thursday journalist Ben Jacobs reports the deal is in place.

Hull are fifth in the Championship after Saturday’s away win against Southampton, and they are five points clear of Middlesbrough (who have played one game more) in second place, and three points clear of Ipswich Town. In other words, perfect conditions for Collies.
