Arsenal signed Viktor Gyökeres, Manchester United Benjamin Sesko. Liverpool Hugo Ekitike, but are still set to bring Alexander Isak to Anfield. A few days before the transfer window closes, Newcastle are the big striker losers. In conflict with their own super striker Isak, Newcastle have in turn made advances towards a bunch of strikers – without success. Now it is reported that the gang at St. James’ Park will finally succeed.

Newcastle have been chasing a striker all summer, where Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike, Yoan Wissa and most recently Jørgen Strand Larsen have been linked with a move to the traditional club in the north of England. No luck for Eddie Howe and the gang, but now it is reported that Newcastle are succeeding where Bayern Munich have fallen short.

Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade is considered Germany’s next big striker, in the U21 European Championship he was absolutely outstanding with six goals for Germany. Bayern Munich have been working all summer to secure the 23-year-old’s signature, but Stuttgart have put themselves on the back foot. Last week, Bayern’s sporting director stated that there would be no signing of Woltemade.

According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, Newcastle also showed interest in Woltemade earlier this summer, now the dialogue is underway again – and put on express. The hyperactive transfer journalist Romano claims the deal is almost in the box between Newcastle and Stuttgart.

Earlier this summer, Bayern Munich made a bid of €55 million, which was quickly rejected. Stuttgart are demanding around €70 million from Newcastle, which the Premier League club are clearly willing to meet in order to bring Germany’s new striker to the Premier League.
