Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan. This season, Kasper Høgh has made the nets flutter against several of the biggest European clubs. On Wednesday, the Dane was again in the right place at the right time, in the stands sat a very important person for the 25-year-old. Denmark’s national team coach had made the trip to Aspmyra to get Høgh and Morten Hjulmand with him. The former without games for Denmark, Hjulmand an obvious addition to the national team squad.

Kasper Høgh stated to Viaplay that his biggest dream (after winning the Champions League with Bodø/Glimt, of course) is to play for Denmark. The fact that the national team manager had made the trip to Aspmyra to look at the Glimt striker was great, especially when only six months ago it seemed unlikely with a door into the national team.

After Bodø/Glimt’s 3-0 victory, national team coach Riemer was asked about Høgh’s chances of getting a place in Denmark’s national team squad, which will be chosen on Tuesday.

“It’s clear that it’s a player who has been doing well for a long time. He scores against big and strong opponents. It is something we have to take into account when we choose the squad, the national team coach begins to TV2.

Riemer adds, however, that it is not a given that Denmark’s most successful player in the Champions League will get his ticket to the World Cup playoffs.

“We have Mika Biereth in Monaco and Kasper Dolberg, who has been with us for many years. In addition, we also have Rasmus Højlund and William Osula in Newcastle. There are many good players, Riemer continues, when asked if Høgh is close to a national team place.

“I can’t take everyone with me, but he has made a very good figure, and I have to take that into account,” says the Danish national team coach.

Okay, Riemer’s job is to be neutral right up until the selection, but we can only understand that Denmark needs Bodø/Glimt’s Champions League star in the World Cup play-offs.
