IFK Göteborg already has two Norwegian players in Anders Trondsen and Eman Marković, now the Allsvenskan club that avoided relegation qualification on goal difference has not only made changes in its sporting administration, but also brought in new players.

Norwegian left winger Tobias Heintz is the first of probably several additions this winter.

Former Sarpsborg 08 player Tobias Heintz returns to Swedish football and has secured a three-year contract with IFK Göteborg.

Tobias Heintz has had a somewhat special path to where he is now. He bought Turkish Kasimpasa in January 2019 for 800,000 euros and a year later he loaned back to Sarpsborg 08. Then in February 2021, he was brought to Häcken on a free transfer, who for the 2022 season arranged a loan return to Sarsborg 08. -Häcken managed to sell him to CSKA-Sofia at the start of 2023 for 600,000 euros.

“IFK Göteborg is a perfect match for me. It is a club that wants to go up,” says Tobias Heintz to the club’s website.

Tobias Heintz has been with CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian top league for the past two years, where he has played a total of 71 games and scored ten goals.

For me, IFK Göteborg is one of the biggest clubs in Scandinavia with the pressure and interest that surrounds it, which I clearly noticed during the period I lived in Gothenburg. Blåvitt is the club in the city that engages the most and that everyone else relates to. It attracts me to be a part of it. I have also been told about how Blåvitt wants to work to lift in 2025 and likes that it is done in a careful way. It feels very good,” says Tobias Heintz.
