Chelsea have really struggled in the striker position since Todd Boehly and the gang took over in 2022. This summer, the London club have made two investments that finally seem to be yielding the necessary results. Joao Pedro has been outstanding in his first two games for Chelsea, 22-year-old Liam Delap is also in place, and has shown at one of the league’s weakest clubs last season he delivers in the Premier League. For Nicolas Jackson, this means relegation to the back of the playing time queue. For Manchester United, clearly a possibility.
According to The Times, this has made Manchester United keep a close eye on the process with Jackson at Stamford Bridge. Ruben Amorim still hasn’t got his pure striker as promised, Jackson gave Chelsea 10 goals in 30 Premier League games last season. 30 goals in a total of 81 games in the blue shirt is “pretty neat”.

For Manchester United, it is unfortunately again a matter of avoiding starting the season without reinforcements at the top, while one top candidate after another has disappeared from United’s reach. Then Jackson could be an alternative to his £50 million+. An option that is unlikely to create enthusiasm among the supporters.
On behalf of all the world’s Man Utd supporters: Ratcliffe, don’t expose us to another season of “thin soup” at the top. A striker Chelsea no longer need is definitely not the right starting point for signing.
