Former Stabæk and Molde player Ola Brynhildsen puts on the yellow shirt a few days after Bodø/Glimt secured Champions League qualification and financing of a new stadium. The agreement is a loan from Danish Midtjylland until 2025 with an option to buy.

Ola Brynhildsen has ravaged the Eliteserien’s defense for years and given many a Glimt supporter sleepless nights. Now the same supporters will instead get the pleasure of the Easterner’s goalscoring flair.

Bodø/Glimt and Danish club Midtjylland have reached an agreement on a loan deal for the 26-year-old striker. The last time we saw him in Norway, last autumn, he scored as many as ten goals in eleven games for Molde.

“It’s nice and good to be here. The transfer has been floating around for a while, so it was nice that it was finally ready”

Brynhildsen made her debut in the Eliteserien for her childhood club Stabæk in 2017. In 2020, he signed for reigning league champion Molde. During his time in the “City of Roses”, he became league champion once and scored against his current employer in the cup final.

After four successful seasons in Molde, the trip went to Danish football and Midtjylland. To secure more playing time, he was loaned back to Molde last autumn, where he impressed greatly. He also has experience from MLS, after a loan spell in Toronto earlier this year.

“I have both good and bad memories of Aspmyra. I’ve always liked playing against Glimt because I feel I’ve performed well, but now I hope to do it for Glimt. I admire the fans here; they have always been good to me, so it will be fun to play with them behind me, says Brynhildsen to Bodø/Glimt’s sides.

Ready for the Champions League

Now Brynhildsen will be part of a historic Bodø/Glimt team that will write new Norwegian football history in the Champions League.

“I think most kids dream of playing for the Champions League anthem. It will be a cool experience. It will be exciting months with big and important matches – exactly those kinds of games I enjoy the most. I feel privileged to be a part of it,” says the striker.

Brynhildsen is no stranger to European football. He has played Champions League qualifiers with both Molde and Midtjylland, and has a dozen games in both the Europa League and Conference League. In addition, he has four caps for Norway.

He describes himself as an offensive and direct player.

“I’m direct, I like to run in the back room, move around and combine with my teammates. I hope I can use it and that I fit well into the style of play here. I have always admired how Glimt plays, and have wanted to be a part of it, he concludes.
