Eighteen years ago, Norwegian club football disappeared from the golden calf to UEFA. On a Tuesday evening at the end of August, we are back. It took Bodø/Glimt to give us back the national football self-esteem. History was made against Sturm Graz with a 6-2 result after two games, now a wild 350 million Norwegian kroner is ticking into the club account. Several of the biggest clubs in the world now have to read up on Aspmyra.

Glimt failed in Zagreb and Belgrade in recent seasons, but the road all the way to the Europa League semi-finals last season showed Glimt had something bigger going on. This came against Sturm Graz. Patrick Berg puts the historic feat into words.

“It means a lot. It has been a distant dream for many years. But it has also come closer and closer. This year, I felt we were ready for this challenge. It’s surreal to think about,” Berg says to Verdens Gang.

We got to see the trip to RBK in the best company, now we are considering moving to Bodø to see the Champions League adventure in yellow.
