This must be music to the ears of the bosses of Fenerbahce who are debating whether to sack manager Jose Mourinho if the results, especially in Europe, do not improve.
“The Portuguese manager is a fox and an expert on parachutes, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s the one who runs away with the money from the eventual buyout.

Jose Mourinho has been linked with a sensational return to the Premier League, with a club reportedly offering £5 million to reward him away from Fenerbahce. After being sacked from Roma, Mourinho took the Fenerbahce job this summer, and the Turkish giants are currently second in the Super Lig, six points behind league leaders Galatasaray.
However, recent reports from As and Marca in Turkey say that Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a £5 million offer to lure him back to England. Wolves are 19th in the Premier League after 15 games, and it is claimed that they want to replace struggling boss Gary O’Neil with the three-time Premier League winner “as soon as possible”.
Mourinho has extensive experience in the Premier League, having managed Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs, his last club in England after he was sacked in 2021.
He signed a contract of 10,5 million euros per year to take the Fenerbahce job, with a deal that runs until June 2026.
But Mourinho has expressed his unhappiness over football in Turkey and back in November he made comments claiming Galatasaray is preferred, claiming that “no one abroad wants to watch the Turkish league”.

Around the same time, it was reported that Mourinho still feels as if he has unfinished business in the Premier League and saw the Newcastle United job as his best chance to make it in the English top flight.
O’Neil is under immense pressure at Molineux after suffering another defeat on Monday night, losing 2-1 to West Ham at the London Stadium. But while his future at the club is threatened, O’Neil has defended his position as manager.
“I know we’ve only got nine points and we’re in a tough spot in the league, but they give it their all,” he told Sky Sports.
“So I hope the fans are still proud of the players even though they hate the position we’re in. I’m right there with them, whether they know it or not.
“We will not give up and we will continue to push. A big game against Ipswich is coming. And hopefully some of the little bits, our bits, bits from the referees go our way.”
