Erik ten Hag was pushing Manchester United to sign Antony. This cost the club £86 million. Ruben Amorim has inherited the problem, was ready to give Antony a chance like all the players, but after a month and a half, it is clear the Brazilian is not the right player on the right wing for United. Now work is being done to find a solution, where the Brazilian’s agent is racing around in high gear.

The transfer window is open, the Manchester United management has Antony on the exit list, but there is of course the “small” problem that Ruben Amorim so elegantly summed up with: “Antony lacks confidence”.

A lack of confidence is not something that will be solved overnight for the club that brings in the 24-year-old on a loan or permanent transfer. This means that Antony is unlikely to deliver from the start. According to the Manchester Evening News, four clubs have been offered to “take over” Antony.

The clubs are Newcastle, Ajax, Benfica and Juventus. According to the local newspaper, the response was not very enthusiastic.
