Real Madrid have completed the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, both clubs have confirmed.
Beat multiple Premier League clubs
Los Blancos have emerged victorious against several Premier League clubs for the 20-year-old Spanish international.

The Spanish giants triggered Huijsen’s €60 million (£50 million) release clause to complete the transfer. The centre-back has signed a five-year contract that lasts until 2030.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea were all interested in the Dutch-born defender, but Real Madrid stepped up their pursuit in recent days and secured the player. This leaves the three English clubs looking for other options in the market.
Official statement of the club
A statement from Real Madrid reads:
“Real Madrid C.F. and AFC Bournemouth have entered into a transfer agreement for the player Dean Huijsen, who will be linked to our club for the next five seasons, from 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2030.”
“At 20 years old, Dean Huijsen is already a national team player for Spain and has played in Italian Serie A for Juventus and Roma, as well as in the Premier League for Bournemouth.”
“Dean Huijsen has been nominated for Premier League Young Player of the Year 2024-2025.”
Huijsen – Premier League’s breakthrough talent
Huijsen has had a phenomenal development since signing for Bournemouth from Juventus 12 months ago in a deal worth 15 million euros. Now he is leaving the club for more than three times this sum.
After having a limited role at Juventus, he immediately established himself in the Premier League, making 30 appearances for Bournemouth with three goals in England’s top division.
Statistically, he has been a defensive monster, which – combined with his young age – made Real Madrid bet on him as their future centre-back.
Madrid Defense Renewal
Real Madrid are expected to sign another big centre-back either this summer or next as part of a bigger defensive overhaul.
The ageing defence has been plagued by injury problems throughout the 2024/25 season, which has been a key reason why Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been relatively uncompetitive.
