Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have held an important strategy meeting where player transfers were high on the agenda. The Norwegian manager has presented a clear plan with five new reinforcements as targets for the transfer window. At the same time, this marks the end of several players, including former Liverpool and Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aims to lift Beşiktaş to old heights and once again become a big club that is evident in Europe on a par with Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s career
The England midfielder, 30, joined Beşiktaş in the summer of 2023 after six years at Liverpool, where he won the Premier League and Champions League. Previously, he had made his mark at Arsenal, where he made his debut as a 17-year-old. Injury problems have marked his career, and in Beşiktaş he has not found his old form with only 3 goals in 27 games this season.

Solskjaer goes hard against hard
The Norwegian manager has been crystal clear that the chaos at the club must end. After strengthening the staff with his own people, he has now established a close collaboration with the board.

“We need to build a more balanced team. Some players don’t fit into our new philosophy,” Solskjaer said during the meeting, according to Fanatik.

Crucial match for the future
On Sunday, Beşiktaş will face Alanyaspor in a match that could secure 3rd place in the Süper Lig – a clear goal since Solskjaer took over in the winter. A victory will trigger greater willingness to invest from the board.
