Omar Elabdellaoui has learned in the toughest possible way that you should be careful with fireworks. The right-back came to Bodø/Glimt two years ago after being without a club for six months.
Until the autumn of 2022, he played for the Turkish big club Galatasaray. In 2023, Elabdellaoui won in a lawsuit against Galatasaray who breached his contract with the Norwegian. He was over 3 million euros and received an apology from the Turkish big club’s new president.
The time in Bodø/Glimt did not turn out as Omar Elabdellaoui hoped for with only fifteen games spread over two seasons. “I came to Bodø to play football, but because of all the injuries I unfortunately couldn’t do what I love most and what we are all here for – playing. It has been a demanding and frustrating period, with all the challenges that come with such situations. Still, looking back, there’s something special about Glimt that makes my experience memorable”
Omar Elabdellaoui has not given any information about what happens next, but there are rumours of a return to Olympiakos where he remains a club hero.
