When Jürgen Klopp was inducted as Global Head of Soccer for sugar and caffeine energy giant Red Bull, it came as a shock to many in Germany, especially in Dortmund. For RB boss Oiver Mintzlaff, it was no surprise, in fact, something he had been working for for the past two years. Now he says the salary negotiations with Klopp were the easiest he had ever been through.
“Over the past 20 years, I have experienced many negotiations in football. I have to say that this was the easiest,” Oliver Mintzlaff begins to Bild.
“I hope he (Jürgen) doesn’t listen now, because then he just thinks that he and the advisor negotiated badly, but the financial aspect took 20 seconds. When his “yes” was in place, it was one of the easiest negotiations I have been involved in in 20 years.
Perhaps not so strange when Minzlaff saw Jürgen Klopp’s demand for an annual salary of around 10 million euros as a warp.
