Paris Saint-Germain is owned by Qatar Sports Investments, and the French giants could possibly have a “sister club” in the future.

The French newspaper L’Equipe reports that Qatar Sports Investments can buy the Spanish second division club Malaga. The parties are said to be in advanced negotiations on an agreement worth 100 million euros, a little more than one billion kroner.

QSI is said to see great potential in Malaga, as the club is based in Spain’s sixth-largest city, which is also expected to host matches during the 2030 World Cup.

Malaga are currently in 15th place in the Spanish second division. The last time the club played in La Liga was during the 2017-2018 season. Malaga has played a total of 35 La Liga seasons, and has been in both the Champions League and Europa League quarter-finals.
