Paris Saint-germain manager Luis Enrique has been one of Barcelona’s most important players at times, but also a huge problem due to his huge salary.

RAC1 reports that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make waves with a €100 million offer for Frenkie de Jong. Luis Enrique sees the Dutch midfielder as a key player to strengthen the team and form an elite trio alongside João Neves and Vitinha.

Barcelona have long wanted to keep De Jong, who has been a mainstay in Hansi Flick’s system as well. But even though his contract expires in 2026, negotiations for an extension have been slow. The offer of a halving of his salary of 19 million euros a year has not thrilled Frenkie de Jong’s people.

This has piqued the interest of PSG, who see an opportunity to bring the class player to Paris.

Not the first time PSG have signed from Barça

This is far from the first time PSG have signed a star from Barcelona. In the past, they have brought Neymar, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembélé with them – something that has caused great frustration in Catalonia. Now the club under Joan Laporta and Deco is determined not to make it easy for PSG. But an offer of 100 million euros could change the picture.

De Jong faces a difficult choice

For Frenkie de Jong, this will be a crucial period. He remains a key player for Barcelona, but the temptation of an ambitious PSG project led by one of the world’s greatest coaches – could make him reconsider his future.

Barcelona are working hard to extend his contract and avoid another loss of talent to Paris, while at the same time they should be happy to fix the club’s finances.
