This winter, Aston Villa brought both Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford to Villa Park on loan. The two “outcast” star players were quickly put to work with good results. Then came the end of the season. Rashford ended up at Barcelona, while Asensio returned to a PSG he knew there was no game time in store. Now the former Real Madrid star is returning to the world’s toughest league.
This time it is West Ham who are calling. Graham Potter and the Hammers have had a miserable start to the season, with the former Chelsea manager at the top of the list of candidates to be the first to be sacked. According to L’Equipe, West Ham and PSG are close to an agreement on a transfer for the 29-year-old.

This time it goes towards a permanent transfer at Asensio, where West Ham pay up to 20 million euros.
Asensio went on to score 8 goals in 21 games in a Villa shirt and showed he thrives in English football, for Potter a very important reinforcement in the rescue operation.
