Manchester City have been told to fix a surprise return for 22-year-old Morgan Rogers, a player they sold in 2023 for just over one million euros. Now, just two years later, his value has exploded to around £50 million – and according to TeamTalk, Pep Guardiola is pushing the club to bring back the talented winger.
Has answered the question from when he is sold! – Is he really good enough to score goals in the Premier League?
The attacking midfielder has had a brilliant season at Aston Villa, with 12 goals and 11 assists across all competitions. He has become a mainstay of Unai Emery’s system, with his dribbling, creative qualities and attacking prowess. This has caught Guardiola’s attention.

Sold for a lick and nothing – now worth £50 million
In Saturday’s 2-1 win at Villa Park against Nottingham Forest, it was Morgan Rogers who opened the scoring. – Aston Ville got three very important points in the fight for the Champions League next year as well.
Although Rogers didn’t get a chance in the first team in his first spell at City, Guardiola is impressed with his development at Aston Villa. Especially considering that several of City’s current wingers could leave, he sees Rogers as an ideal purchase to renew the attacking line.
The problem for City will be the price tag. Aston Villa have no plans to let one of their most influential players go cheap, and there is already talk of a sum in the vicinity of €50 million – far more than what City earned from the sale just a year ago.
Still, Guardiola believes the investment is worth it, to correct what now looks like a strategic mistake.
