Manchester City’s head coach, Pep Guardiola, currently has a contract valid until the summer of 2025. For some time, there had been uncertainty about whether he would remain with the club. Now, it seems the matter has been settled.

The Man City boss has agreed a new one-year extension to his current deal, with the option of another year.

City are expected to make Guardiola’s new contract official shortly and put an end to the speculation over his future.

Guardiola has been in charge of City since 2016 and has led them to six Premier League titles, including four in the last four years. He has also helped the club lift the League Cup four times, the FA Cup twice and the Champions League once.

Yet City are in the midst of a difficult season, as the club await the verdict of a hearing into their 115 alleged breaches of financial rules. Guardiola’s side have also struggled on the pitch in recent weeks, losing their last four games in a row before the international break.
