When David Moyes returned to Goodison Park, the Everton supporters were calm. The 61-year-old came from years of strong results at West Ham, but most importantly: one of Everton’s great coaches with 11 years of experience at Goodison Park. On Friday, the confirmation came that Moyes is one of the big boys in the world’s toughest league.
The fear of relegation is gone among Everton supporters. With 16 points ahead of Ipswich in 18th place, that is no longer an issue.
In February, Moyes led Everton to 2 wins and 4 draws, this qualified for the Premier League Manager of the Month award.
Moyes shows that this is no coincidence, now the Scot is tied with Pep Guardiola for the number of manager of the month awards (11), ahead of only Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.
We congratulate Moyes – and the Everton supporters who have their Champion back.
