Over 70,000 fans filled the arena to see Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite – and among them were two familiar faces from the blue part of Manchester: Pep Guardiola and Jack Grealish.

But even though both Manchester City men clearly had a great time, they experienced the evening in very different ways.

City manager Guardiola attended the show alongside his daughter Maria, and was seen passionately singing along to the iconic anthem “Don’t Look Back in Anger”.

The Gallagher brothers – both lifelong City fans – even gave Pep a special shoutout from the stage, calling him “the best manager of all time”. That comment provoked some groans from the red part of Manchester, but cheers from the blue.

Pep was also photographed backstage with both Liam and Noel’s children: Lennon, Gene, Anais, Donovan and Sonny. Gene Gallagher shared a photo of the meeting on Instagram, proudly calling it “the picture of the century.”

At the same time, Grealish had a more emotional night.

According to his partner Sasha Attwood, the City midfielder seemed to really enjoy the festivities. Towards the end of the evening, Grealish was spotted at the VIP area, where he was recognized by a group of City fans.

In a heartwarming moment, he was filmed “crying with joy” and passionately declaring, “I love City more than anything! And do you know what I love more than anything else? City fans! They’re the best fans in the world!”

Although Grealish’s future at the club is uncertain, his love for the fans is certainly not.

In a way, Pep and Jack’s evening mirrored the Gallagher brothers themselves: one moderate and masterful, the other raw, loud and with their hearts on their sleeves. Different energies – the same love for the music and for Manchester City.
