Expressen reports that the Norwegian is one of a couple of final candidates that Häcken is looking at in his coaching search. Høgmo was responsible for the black and yellow between 2021 and 2023. During that period, he led the club to both a cup and Swedish championship gold.

Häcken has been without a permanent head coach since Pål Arne “Paco” Johansen was fired. Joop Oosterveld was promoted from the P19 team and led the team last autumn on a temporary basis.

Malmö, which has many Norwegians in the squad, including Colin Rösler, Oliver Berg, Lasse Berg Johnson and Erik Botheim, won the Allsvenskan this year by a good margin, while Häcken landed in eighth place.
