Per-Mathias Høgmo is back at work as head coach of Molde after being unemployed for a few months. The veteran coach returned home from Japan at the end of August after being fired by Urawa Red Diamonds.
Per-Mathias Høgmo has been given the task of lifting Molde out into Europe again and today got his first signing in place. Fired head coach Erling Moe has been reunited with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Turkey.
It is questionable whether the new signing Daniel Demenenge Daga, who has been brought in from Nigeria, can immediately make a difference given his young age, but it bodes very well for the future. The midfielder comes from the “talent factory” FC One Rocket. Last season was on loan to Enyimba in the Nigerian top division.
Daga has eleven U20 caps for Nigeria and is referred to as one of the country’s greatest football talents, according to Molde.
“We are very excited to bring in an exciting and talented player from Nigeria. Daniel already has experience from the top division there, and he is considered a great talent. We look forward to following his development here in Molde and contributing to him taking new steps in his career,” says CEO Øystein Neerland to Molde’s pages.
The 18-year-old is available for the friendly match against Træff on Tuesday 28 January. Then a training camp awaits in Marbella before the conference league duel against Shamrock Rovers.
