It wasn’t long ago that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to spend some of the money he has earned playing desert football, would buy La Liga club Valencia and thus free them from their unpopular main owner Peter Lim.
But so far, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has not succeeded with his advances.

The Cheian team is trying to get ahead of the market to secure more new players, but the owner insists on causing trouble for an incredible reason.
Valencia is still stuck in the special decision-making calendar set by main shareholder Peter Lim. Despite the fact that the club has signed two midfielders for next season (Javi Muñoz of UD Las Palmas and Yvan Neyou, who currently plays for Leganés), they cannot complete the transfers because the final go-ahead from Singapore has not yet arrived.
Both players fit the profile that sports management considers a priority: players with no transfer fee, clear salaries and experience from the league. Even the contracts are ready, but the signings are on hold due to the owner’s lack of response. Meanwhile, the players, who are committed to the project and ready to put on the Valencia shirt, wait patiently – but their patience can be swayed over time.
This season, Valencia landed roughly in the middle of the La Liga table.
Corberán considers these signings a priority
Carlos Corberán, the team’s manager, expects them to be ready to start pre-season, and in a normal scenario, they should have already planned their transfer. But Lim’s forced reality once again distorts the club’s schedules. First there was mathematical fuse in the league, then the end of the season, and now no one at the Mestalla knows for sure when the final “ok” signal will come.
With Barrenechea heading to Aston Villa, the midfield needs reinforcements. Pepelu, Hugo Guillamón, Javi Guerra and André Almeida are still at the club, although the latter two could switch clubs this summer. Planning is underway, but as always, the outcome depends on a single signature: Peter Lims.
