On Sunday, the Premier League goal came from Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane cheered, the United players cheered, Amorim praised the 22-year-old. United supporters took the goal as a “should just be missing”, while Antonio Conte was less concerned with what Hojlund delivers. The Napoli coach is more concerned with how Højlund will be the top scorer under his leadership.

It is nothing new that Højlund is linked to Italian big clubs, nor news that Napoli and Conte see Højlund as a potential top scorer in Serie A. What is new is that it is reported that the Napoli management is not just talking about Højlund signing, the plan is supposed to be made.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have made the decision to go for Hojlund this summer and “buy free” the 22-year-old. The plan has been made, but the challenge will of course be the price. Manchester United, according to the Italian media, are demanding around £50 million, Napoli envisage negotiating this price, as a condition for realizing the transfer.

Then it probably suits the Italians best if Hojlund goes back to a goal drought in the United shirt and provides a better starting point for negotiations on price.
