With a 3-1 loss to Tottenham on Sunday, the Southampton supporters travelled home from London, still on course for the weakest season in Premier League history. Relegation is clear, now it’s about creating an energy in the last two months that will give a boost into the Championship season after the summer. The first move was to remove Ivan Juric as coach.

14 games and 12 losses. These ugly statistics are on Juric’s CV forever and ever. The Croatian was brought in as a rescuer, but came to the club without magic dust. A day after the relegation was a fact, Southampton send Juric out of the club.

“Ivan Juric came to Southampton at a difficult time and was asked to try and improve a squad in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, we have not seen the progress in performance that we had hoped for, but we would like to thank Ivan and his staff for their honesty and hard work while fighting against the odds to try and keep us up. With the relegation to the Championship confirmed, we believe it is important to give fans, players and staff clarity about the future as we enter a very important summer,” the club’s website reads.
