Aston Villa supporters are depressed. With fourth place in the Premier League after thirty games, it could still be heading for an impressive season for the Birmingham club, but the Champions League ticket could now slip away. From a solid start to the season through late summer, autumn and early winter, Unai Emery’s men played as a title contender. Since the beginning of January, there have been losses against Everton, Brentford, Wolverhampton, Chelsea and now Sunday against Manchester United. This is in addition to a number of draws in the league. Now there is a shout out to Alexander Sørloth.
Atletico Madrid’s top scorer cannot contribute at Villa Park this season, but according to the inked Fichajes , Emery has booked Sørloth for next season, with the Premier League club signalling to Atletico they are ready with a bid of €35 million.

It’s nothing new that Sørloth is being linked with Aston Villa, but with Ollie Watkins struggling to emerge as a match-winner this side of the New Year (a whopping 2 goals in the last 10 games), Emery wants a world-class top scorer going into the new season. In other words: Alexander Sørloth.
Sørloth’s contract with Atletico runs until 2028, but the La Liga club have this season kept the door open for bids for the 30-year-old. Atletico are planning major investments in player purchases in the summer, a Sørloth sale could help cover this.
We don’t understand that the Spaniards “can afford” to sell the striker who has put Julian Alvarez and Griezmann in the shadows in recent months, but we are happy to take another round with Sørloth in the world’s toughest league. An insane amount has happened to the Norwegian international striker since his tame debut season in the Crystal Palace shirt.
