One thing is for sure, Manchester United have made a lot of stupid decisions in recent years. Both on insane player purchases and the hiring of managers, both temporary and permanent, it has been difficult to follow the logic behind it. Managers such as Louis van Gaal, Ralf Rangnick, Erik ten Hag and

Experts have almost always been wrong when it comes to predicting who will be the manager of Manchester United, with the possible exception of when Sir Alex Ferguson resigned and hired David Moyes.

Now, despite four straight wins in the Premier League, the bosses at Old Trafford will surely be looking for someone other than Michael Carrick, who will be available on the market again in a few weeks.

Earlier today Saturday at Old Trafford, Manchester United won 2 – 0 against a Tottenham team that is still struggling.

Crystal Palace see what’s going on and, according to Football Insider, will seriously consider going for Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick as a replacement for Oliver Glasner in the summer.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace are both likely to be on the hunt for a new manager before the 2026/2027 season. Palace’s search for a new boss is certain, Glasner has already confirmed that he will not sign a new deal at Selhurst Park, as his current contract expires at the end of the season.

There is also a good chance that Manchester United will look to hire a new manager, with Carrick only being brought in on an interim basis for the rest of the season. The former Middlesbrough boss could give United something to think about when it comes to potentially hiring him permanently, having won his first four games as boss since joining in January.

Crystal Palace are planning to take advantage of Manchester United’s slowness. The Eagles could be persuaded to make a move for Carrick in the summer if United opt against hiring him on a permanent basis after his temporary spell.

Unfortunately for Palace, it is claimed that Carrick is in pole position to land the United job on a permanent basis after an impressive start. Palace aren’t the only team keeping tabs on Carrick’s progress at Old Trafford this season, with Bournemouth and Fulham also mentioned as potential suitors for the former Middlesbrough boss.

Whether Carrick, described as “insanely talented” by Danish journalist Pelle Kirchner, would be interested in a move to Selhurst Park remains to be seen, but he could get plenty of offers if United’s form continues under him.

Although Palace are likely to want to keep Glasner at the club beyond this season, the Austrian manager’s revelation that he wants to leave the club is an advantage for the club. Steve Parish and his team now have plenty of time to analyze candidates and find a replacement, which means they have a better chance of getting the next hire right.

Palace are clearly already working on who will take over on the bench at Selhurst Park, and they will undoubtedly do well to replicate what Glasner has achieved by delivering two long-awaited trophies to the capital club.
