The Dutch striker is on the radar of a big Premier League club.
Newcastle United are determined to make Xavi Simons one of their key figures in the upcoming season. The English club is preparing an offer of around 70 million euros to sign the young Dutchman from RB Leipzig.

Simons was one of the most prominent players in the Bundesliga during last season, and his profile fits perfectly with the Magpies’ ambitions to raise the competitive level in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Simons has impressed since his arrival in Germany, and his performances in the 2024/25 season have confirmed his development as one of the most promising talents in European football. With 11 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances, the striker has established himself as a constant threat in the attacking side of the pitch – something that has attracted interest from several top clubs on the continent. Newcastle want to come first and position themselves as the player’s preferred choice.
Newcastle want to sign both Xavi Simons and Antonio Nusa
At the same time, Newcastle are also keeping a close eye on Antonio Nusa, the Norwegian winger who has shown glimpses of his talent in his first season at Leipzig. Despite not being a regular in the starting line-up, his skills and ability to create scoring chances have made him a recognized player. However, the German club will not let either player leave without a significant offer – the total package for both players is likely to be around £100 million.

Newcastle’s sporting management considers every move carefully. Miguel Almirón’s departure left a void that has not been filled, and the decision to chase Simons shows the willingness to replace him with quality and future potential.
Now it remains to be seen whether they can convince RB Leipzig to strike a deal that, if realised, will mark a new turning point in the club’s project.
