Rotten England manager Sean Dyche, who was sacked at Nottingham Forest in February, was linked to the Tottenham job for a few hectic weeks. It ended with Roberto Zerbi, Dyche himself says he was not in talks with the club, but had not taken the job either, even though he had been offered.

“I wouldn’t go into it for the money,” Dyche told talkSport.

“They could have offered me a huge salary – I’m sure they are capable of that – and they are said to have done the same with De Zerbi. But for me, it’s about what I get out of it as a person. What do I get out of it myself?”, Dyche continues.

Which explains what faced Postecoglou, Thomas Frank and now meets De Zerbi.

“If you take the Tottenham job and deliver, but are not in the top four next season, and the game is not the way they want it, then you are quickly judged. Then suddenly you’re not good enough, and then they want you gone. And if you don’t succeed, it ends up being your fault that the club gets relegated,” Dyche concludes.

On Sunday, Sunderland await Roberto de Zerbi for his debut as Tottenham manager. The Italian has this, and a maximum of two more before he is hailed as a savior – or blunder coach.
