Ruben Amorim says he is pleased with Antony’s success at Real Betis. At the same time, this is a player the United manager does not benefit from in a historically weak Premier League season, so for Amorim, Antony is a non-issue. For United boss Ratcliffe, Antony has been a big and expensive affair. Rental was the first step towards a solution to limit some of the loss of having Antony in the United squad, now work is being done to convince the United management that they should go for “more of the same”.
Real Betis negotiated a loan deal for Antony, with the La Liga club covering 84% of Antony’s salary plus bonuses. The €95 million signing from Ajax in 2022 brings in around £60 million in weekly wages.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Real Betis are preparing an offer for United. Not with a permanent transfer, but a new lease, this time for the entire season.
This will require Real Betis to take a larger share of the wage bill. Manchester United MUST clear space in the wage budget for their own reinforcements and have pressure to dump Antony, but also need sales revenue.
Sounds like the Real Betis management can save themselves the attempt. The Manchester United management has not signalled a partial clean-up in the squad, here it will be done properly.
