Nicolas Raskin could leave Rangers in January, as the Ibrox side will find it ‘very difficult’ to turn down an offer from Tottenham for the midfielder, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Belgium international’s future with the Scottish giants has been a topic of conversation since the start of the season, when Raskin struggled to get regular game time under Russell Martin.

While his importance to Danny Rohl, who replaced Martin in October, has been clear, the 24-year-old midfielder could be on his way out at the turn of the year if Rangers receive a significant offer.

Tottenham are seen as one of the clubs that could increase their interest in Raskin next month, with the Lilywhites potentially looking to replace Yves Bissouma.

Danny Rohl wants Raskin to stay
The Rangers extremely reluctant to lose Raskin next month, with Rohl being particularly keen to keep the midfielder.

Raskin has been irreplaceable for the German tactician since taking over from Martin in October, starting all 12 games and completing a whopping 90 minutes on 10 occasions.

While their sale price remains unclear, the Rangers are in a strong negotiating position for Raskin, considering he is under contract until June 2028.

The ‘phenomenal’ 24-year-old, who was brought to the Ibrox team from Belgian club Standard Liege in January 2023, has registered 122 appearances for Scotland to date, with eight goals and 19 assists.

The Rangers have gone through a difficult period under Rohl recently, with only one win in the last five games across all competitions.

They lost 2-1 to Hungarian club Ferencvaros in the Europa League on Thursday, which virtually ended their hopes of reaching the play-offs.

Rangers aim for triple signing in January
Rangers, who are fourth in the Premiership table and nine points behind league leaders Hearts, are still hoping to turn around the domestic season, and January could provide an opportunity to increase their chances.

The Ibrox side are expected to be busy when the transfer window reopens next month, and could be aiming for as many as three new signings to bolster Rohl’s squad.

According to reports, the Rangers will be looking for a new striker, a centre-back and a full-back to address both the goal crunch and the injury crisis in defence, with John Souttar and Derek Cornelius out with serious muscle injuries.
