Rasmus Hojlund was earlier this summer heavily linked to Napoli for a reunion with Scott McTominay, Serie As Player of the Season. The combination of United’s financial demands and the Dane’s unwillingness to give up in the fight for playing time at United, caused the Serie A champions to turn around. Then Romelu Lukaku was injured, at the same time as the Premier League started without Hojlund in the United squad. Now Napoli coach Antonio Conte is impatiently waiting for the redundant United striker. Conte doesn’t have to wait any longer.

Manchester United have held back on a rental contract for the Dane throughout the summer. The decision was made to dump the Dane on a permanent exit, but not at a give-away price. With only days left before the market closes, the United management has realized the willingness to pay for Hojlund stops well away from the 70 million euros plus bonuses United themselves had to pay out in 2023.

According to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli and Manchester United have now agreed on a Hojlund transfer, with the Dane putting on the Napoli shirt on a loan contract for the season, but with an obligation to buy 45 million euros in the contract.

Højlund is scheduled to travel to Italy tomorrow when the personal terms have been agreed. The agent is already in Italy on Thursday evening, reports the transfer journalist.

For us, this will be the best solution for all parties. United free up the spot and cover part of the investment from 2023, Hojlund gets Conte on the sidelines, expert in bringing out the potential of underrated Man Utd players. We wish the 22-year-old the best of luck on his journey.
