According to The Athletic, the United manager has chosen to leave Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund out of the matchday squad. The reason is said to be that Amorim has made it clear to the striker that he is likely to get limited playing time this season. Højlund has reportedly replied that he wants to stay at the English big club.

Transfer speculation increases

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also writes that it is definitely over between United and Hojlund. Romano claims that United are open to both a permanent transfer and a loan move for the striker. He also believes that the player will consider his options carefully.

Hojlund has in recent weeks been linked with a move to clubs such as Fulham and Milan, but still has a contract that lasts until the summer of 2028. The attacker joined United from Atalanta in 2023 and has since scored 26 goals and made six assists in 95 appearances for the club.
