While there are signals that not everyone at Real Madrid is as happy with Xabi Alonso as manager, despite a clear lead in La Liga, the mood is much worse at Anfield, where the sacking of Liverpool manager Arne Slot is now being discussed more and more loudly.

Liverpool, who are now down to 7th place in the Premier League, get another bad news about a star they thought was a safe bet.

Real Madrid are “confident” of signing Marc Guehi for free in the summer.

Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guehi, 25, were close to a move to Liverpool this summer – but at the last minute the transfer collapsed when Palace were unable to find a replacement.

Since then, Real Madrid have come into the picture, and now AS states that the La Liga giant is sure to link up with Guehi on a free transfer in the summer when his contract expires.

In the Spanish capital, Guehi would be joined by national team teammates Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also mentioned as interested parties. It is already clear that Guehi will leave Palace at the end of the season.
