It is by no means a cheap deal in question.
River Plate confirms that the club will receive $45 million in transfer fees right away, which is already said to be the largest player sale ever from Argentina. According to River Plate, the total sum, including taxes and other fees, amounts to $72.6 million.
This will be Real Madrid’s third signing this summer. In the past, the club has strengthened itself with full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool and centre-back Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth.
Mastantuono has previously been linked with clubs such as Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
