Real Madrid were 99.9% sure of signing Alphonso Davies as the 24-year-old has so far turned down all attempts at an extension from Bayern Munich. Davies is already earning well, around €11 million a year, but with Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid tempting with even bigger cheques, it’s been hard to stay.
Since Alphonso Davies arrived from Vancouver in 2019, he has developed into one of the world’s very best left-backs, doing great at the German big club, but money is money.
There have been rumours about the full-back for “Meringue” over the past year, but recent reports have claimed that the Canadian, whose contract expires this summer, will sign a new deal with Bayern Munich rather than a move from Germany. In their latest offer, Bayern Munich are said to have presented a salary structure that, in addition to increased bonuses, increases the base salary by about 10% each year in a five-year contract.
Now the search for a new full-back continues. And Real Madrid can then turn their attention to their old player, Théo Hernandez.
The
27-year-old’s contract expires in 2026 and therefore the Serie A club could consider selling him, with a price tag of around €50 million.
The Italian newspaper states that Milan coach Paulo Fonseco has been unhappy with Hernandez’s recent performances and that together with the contract situation, Milan are open to letting go of the French international.
The left-back, who this season accounted for two goals and two assists in twelve Serie A games.
Hernandez joined AC Milan from Real in 2019.
