Real Madrid have secured the signature of Dean Huijsen (20) from Bournemouth. The transfer was confirmed on Tuesday transfer gremlin Fabrizio Romano, who described the deal as “100% done” between all parties. The Spanish international will arrive at the Santiago Bernabéu as soon as the summer window opens.

Full agreement in place

Huijsen has chosen Real Madrid over other big offers. Both Liverpool and Chelsea showed strong interest, but the young centre-back – born in Amsterdam and raised in Málaga – had one clear goal: to play in Madrid’s white shirt.

After an important meeting in Valdebebas, Madrid presented its formal offer to the player’s representatives. The answer was an immediate “yes”.

The deal with Bournemouth is also in place. Madrid will pay the buyout clause of 58 million euros in three instalments, with the last part due in 2026.

Important reinforcement before Club World Cup

Real Madrid face defensive challenges. Injury problems and the end of the careers of several players have sped up the negotiations. The sporting director wants Huijsen ready for the Club World Cup, where they also hope to be able to field the already confirmed signing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Xabi Alonso gives the green light

The Basque coach, who takes over after Ancelotti’s departure to Brazil, has already approved the signing. Madrid’s goal is to have the new defensive axis in place before July, and Dean Huijsen represents the first piece in the club’s new project.

With this signing, Real Madrid confirm that they are continuing their tradition of signing the world’s most promising young talent. Huijsen, who has already played his way into the Spanish national team, is considered one of Europe’s greatest defensive talents.
