After a few weeks on the training ground for Jude Bellingham in 2023 with Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid coach joked that the young English player’s passport must be fake. His age did not match what he delivered on the turf. That season, Bellingham had a near-free role at Ancelotti, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists in his debut season. This season has been like a sporting black hole for Real’s English €103 million investment.

Last season, Real Madrid won it all, with Kylian Mbappé in the squad – no titles (before the Club World Cup). Bellingham has delivered far below expectations he created last season, although 14 goals and 14 assists for an attacking midfielder would have been acceptable for others.

According to Marca, the Real management is concerned about the Englishman’s dip in form, and has held several meetings to get to the bottom of the reasons behind the “fall”.

The Spanish media claims that the club in this process is reviewing the activities of the 21-year-old off the pitch to uncover whether this is one of the reasons. Bellingham reportedly received a warning from Ancelotti about activities outside the training ground and match arena that steal the focus.
