The “white team” continues to have the French centre-back as a top target and proposes a BOMBE exchange

The transfer window is coming to an end, and although Real Madrid have already made significant moves, they have not closed the door on new operations. The sporting planning has been thorough, with the signings of Franco Mastantuono, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Álvaro Carreras and Dean Huijsen. Nevertheless, the Bernabéu offices do not rule out one last big bargain before the deadline.

One of the possibilities currently being considered by the White leadership is the departure of Rodrygo Goes – a player who has lost his central role in Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics, especially after the arrival of Endrick and Kylian Mbappé’s return to the limelight. Although the Brazilian has been important in previous seasons, the sporting leadership does not consider him untouchable and will be open to a trade-off that strengthens a priority position: defense.

Saliba is a top target for Real Madrid

The club’s target is William Saliba, Arsenal’s centre-back, a player they have considered for a long time and who fits the profile of a dominant, young and promising defender. Xabi Alonso, the White team’s next coach, has him among his favourites, although he is aware that the signing will not be easy. Arsenal value him as a key player, and Mikel Arteta has reiterated several times that the player is happy in London and has no intention of moving.

Nevertheless, those at Valdebebas believe that a direct swap with Rodrygo could change the situation. According to DefensaCentral, although there are no formal negotiations at the moment, Real Madrid will be willing to propose this swap, as they see that Saliba can provide defensive stability for many years. The possible arrival of the Frenchman would also make it possible to disregard Ibrahima Konaté, another name that has been considered internally.

This hypothetical swap action would solve two needs at the same time: to get rid of a player who is no longer a priority and to strengthen a line where they need a leader both for the present and the future. Convincing Arsenal will not be easy, but at Real Madrid they know that the final weeks of the transfer window are fertile ground for unexpected moves. Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez keep their eyes open, aware that an opportunity could present itself at any moment.
